The R.E.M. documentary R.E.M. by MTV, which explores the relationship between the legendary band and the music network, will be released on Blu-ray and as a standalone DVD on June 5 in Australia. The film previously had only been available as a part of a six-disc DVD collection called I Want My REMTV.

“Alexander Young’s documentary is a fine way to tell the story of R.E.M. through its various twists and turns, as captured in real time by MTV’s cameras– it has some great funny bits too!” said longtime R.E.M. manager Bertis Downs.

In addition to the film, the R.E.M. by MTV Blu-ray and DVD will feature five rarely seen live performances.

R.E.M. by MTV will also be screened in select cinemas on Tuesday, May 19.

Here are the bonus live performances included in the R.E.M. by MTV Blu-ray and DVD:

“Find the River,” Live in Cologne, May 12, 2001

“Imitation of Life,” Rock AM Ring, June 3, 2005
