The only people who come out of retirement are people who need the money . . . and rappers.  And since Phil Collins is not a rapper… well, you know.  Phil told “Rolling Stone”, quote, “I’m no longer officially retired.

“The horse is out of the stable and I’m raring to go, my kids are now 10 and 14 and they want to see what their dad does.  They were in diapers when I was last on the road.  They love my music and I’d like to take them out so they can enjoy it.”

Phil hasn’t put an album of new material since “Testify” in 2002.  In 2011, Phil retired from music, and around the same time he said his back and nerve problems made it difficult for him to wipe himself, let alone play drums.

Well, he recently had emergency back surgery, and apparently his doctors believe he’ll be able to play again, as long as he practices a lot to work up his strength.
