With so many of us feeling weighed down by the pandemic, we’re being reminded to stay graceful and joyful through all the new challenges Covid-19 has thrust upon us.

Statistics show that in the four weeks to September 19 2021 Lifeline recorded several historical high daily call volumes*.

Those calling did so for a multitude of reasons. Some had lost their job, some had fallen ill while others simply had a feeling they couldn’t put into words.

The overall sense of malady permeated many of our lives – including that of Ortenzia Borre.

The news presenter, journalist and author was already working on her third book when the pandemic hit. Instead of being railroaded by the chaos, Borre says she decided to utilise the once in a lifetime experience for good.

“I think the best advice that I would be able to give after thinking about this during the lockdown is to find your passion and go for it,” Borre told WSFM.

HERE ARE SOME OF ORTENZIA’S BEST TIPS TO HELP YOU JUST ‘GO FOR IT’ AND CULTIVATE GRACEFUL GRIT:

Finding a new normal is something every person has had to do. At times of adversity we shouldn’t be ashamed or fearful to forge a new life if needed.

We have a choice in creating the life we want with the steps we take and the decisions we make. Adopting a growth mindset and learning new skills will only benefit your future.

Be kind and patient. We never know what personal challenges someone may be experiencing.

*Lifeline saw several historical record high daily call volumes, and 96,273 calls were offered in total, up 14.1% and 33.1% from the same periods in 2020 and 2019 respectively.
