Now is really the time to get those winter clothes out.
Meteorologists are warning that a chilly start to the colder months will continue with temperatures set to plummet over the coming days.
Darwin, Perth & Brisbane will be the only capital cities where temperatures will get above 20 degrees next week.
Melburnians will be among those who will feel the chill but the weekend will be pretty standard before dropping down to 12 degrees, three degrees below the average.
BOM’s Dean Stewart said ‘Up until May 25, we had a stretch of mild weather across the state until this week when a succession of cold fronts came through. The cold air is coming a long way south of the continent from Antarctica and is passing through in a series of cold fronts.’
In New South Wales, it’s going to be very chilly too. With overnight temperatures in Sydney dropping as low as 9 degrees by Tuesday next week.
Once the chill factor is over, it’s likely to warm up a little but that coat will be still be needed!
