It goes like this: a Tool fan asked a fellow concert-goer to take his pic standing in front of the stage.
No big deal, right?
Thing is, the fan had unknowingly roped in a wayyyy bigger rock legend to take the snap – Eddie Van Halen.
The guitar god was at Tool’s gig in LA on Monday with his son and bandmate, Wolf Van Halen.
“A guy asked my dad if he could take a picture of him with the stage behind him, having no idea who he just asked,” Wolf tweeted.
“and that was my favorite moment from the Tool show last night.”

It’s been reported that Eddie has been battling throat cancer, which would explain why the band has been sitting idle.
“I’m not sure what’s happening with Ed, but [he’s] probably not gonna answer the bell this time,” David Lee Roth said while promoting his upcoming solo Las Vegas residency.
“It’s not my place to guess.”
