Tom Cruise has again shown that any mission is possible after his latest action flick landed at number one at the Australian box office.

Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation grossed $5.019 million on its opening weekend, completely crushing last week’s box office hero Ant-Man.

The Disney superhero movie is still strong with audiences, capturing second spot with $1.736 million. Amy Schumer’s romantic comedy Trainwreck is only by name and not nature after it was third ($1.226 million), down one spot from last week’s opening.

Sitting in fourth is Paper Towns ($644,361) while comedy Magic Mike XXL ($587,442) and animated comedy-drama Inside Out ($492,160) were fifth and sixth respectively.

Not much split the four films that rounded out the top 10 over the weekend. Animated Despicable Me spin-off, Minions ($353,913) was seventh followed by Mr. Holmes ($344,040), dinosaur drama Jurassic World ($297,809) and supernatural horror film The Gallows ($278,903).
