Who would have thought 2019 would be the year a contestant from reality TV show Married At First Sight ran for Parliament?
If you answered ‘no one’, then you are most probably correct – as WHO could have predicted this kind of madness?
In a video on his Instagram channel, Troy announced this revelation.
“I’m sick of the same old politics and it’s time for the next generation to step up,” he says.
“I’m going to be someone who brings the community together.”
You will most certainly want to cast your eyes over his official campaign website, but in case you just don’t have the time right now, here are a few key takeaways…
His main message on the homepage reads as follows:
Australia is the lucky country…We have a beautiful country and great people…We can create the future that we want. Yet quality of life across the electorate of North Sydney continues to decline… Our roads are clogged, travel takes too long, schools are full and our hospitals are crammed. Meanwhile, we look to Canberra and see government not working, all while things get worse across the community. Troy knows tomorrow can be SO MUCH BETTER and is ready to challenge the status quo! Troy will be a pragmatic problem solver who brings people together and gets results. End traffic congestion, invest in renewable energy, fight bureaucracy, and abolish the senate.
Did you catch that little last phrase? Troy wants to “abolish the senate”.
Troy is also vowing he will create strong national borders, and allow Australians to “participate in international online poker gaming”.
We are certainly looking forward to seeing the rest of Troy’s campaign rolled out, in the lead up to the election in May…
