We’re always talking about how blooming wild the Australian version of Married At First Sight is but wait until you hear what just went down over in America.

While we’re over here dealing with cheating, wife-swapping and red wine throwing, the US series of MAFS has just been rocked by a bombshell after an expert became engaged to a former contestant!

MAFS relationship expert Dr Jessica Griffin and former MAFS groom Jon Frantic have announced their engagement, just a year after they met while filming season six of the US version of the show.

Jon had been paired with a woman named Molly Duff on his season and Dr Griffin counselled them on their marriage.

The pair decided to split during their decision day, which is similar to the final vows here on the Australian version.

Jon and Dr Griffin began dating five months after filming finished and went public with their relationship in August last year.

It’s reported by a friend close to the couple that Dr Griffin would not be returning to the show this year as a relationship expert.

“Jessica and Jon are very happy together. She wasn’t to focus on her family and their relationship,” a friend of the couple said.

The pair have faced a lot of backlash on social media since announcing their relationship, but they don’t seem to be taking much notice, with Dr Griffin gushing on Instagram about how in love she is with Jon while announcing their engagement.

“I have always said, you can find love in extraordinay ways – you just have to follow your heart and be you, nobody other than you, and the right person will find you (if he’s persistent enough and eventually hunts you down and won’t take no for an answer),” she wrote.

The pair became engaged over the weekend while at the Grand Canyon.

Well, at least MAFS can finally have a success story? Albeit a little unconventional.
