Mariah Carey is in the thick of her residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, where she’s performing her Mariah #1 to Infinity show. Despite the glamorous stage show, the singer says not all is glitter and butterflies. Backstage, she says “a lot of funny things” happen.
“I’d rather not call them to the attention of the world, but let’s just say behind the scenes, backstage, everybody’s grabbing, everybody’s taking your clothes, you’re standing there and you’re at the mercy of the people backstage so you have to have a great team with you,” she explained on US TV Show Live with Kelly and Michael.
Mariah also spoke about adjusting to living in Sin City with her two children, four-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe. “Well, we’re living there and I have a house there for the kids, with a pool and a jungle gym and all the things that they want,” she says, before adding, “But I’m still a New Yorker. I’ll always be a New Yorker.”
Mariah’s Vegas show comes at the same time as her latest album also titled Mariah #1 to Infinity. The Grammy-winning singer said the songs are “all about feeling and just expressing your soul. That’s what it’s all about really. For me, music has always been my saving grace.”
Mariah’s show at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace was just extended through February 21 2016.
