She’s an actor, author, advocate, and all-round brilliant person, and now Magda Szubanski is bringing to light an important issue that has been pushed aside amid the coronavirus pandemic – the significance of mental health awareness across the country during these tough times.

There’s no denying we’re suffering. Last month, Lifeline recorded its highest monthly calls in the organisation’s 56-year history.

At the height of the crisis, the service received 24,000 calls a week, with March now holding the dubious title of the highest monthly demand in Lifeline’s history. Good Friday was the worst day of all, with some 3200 calls for help.
