What can you expect from Madonna’s upcoming Rebel Heart tour? Pole dancing nuns, among other things.
Madonna released a couple of teaser videos ahead of her tour, which is set to kick off September 9 in Montreal. The clips give a behind-the-scenes glimpse at dance rehearsals for the sure-to-be-epic production.
In the first teaser, Madonna’s “Devil Pray” plays as dancers dressed as nuns twirl on stripper poles and other dancers work out a flamenco-inspired routine. Madonna is also spotted practicing her moves.
In the second video, set to Madonna’s song “Iconic,” dozens of dancers rehearse an intricately choreographed routine with props and drums.
The Rebel Heart tour was initially supposed to begin on August 29 in Miami, but Madonna postponed the first five shows in order to have more rehearsal time. She’ll hit North American cities throughout September and October, before heading to Europe for two months. Then, in January, she’ll return to the U.S. to perform her five postponed shows. After that, the tour heads to Asia and Australia, where it will wrap on March 27.
DJ-producer Diplo is set to open for Madonna at her Quebec gigs, and comedian Amy Schumer will open for her New York shows.
