Jeff Lynne put together a new version of his band Electric Light Orchestra to perform  a huge concert in London’s Hyde Park last September as part of BBC Radio 2’s Festival in a Day.  This September that performance will released on DVD, Blu-ray and as a digital download.

Jeff Lynne’s ELO: Live in Hyde Park features the group playing many of its memorable songs with accompaniment from the BBC Concert Orchestra in front of an audience of 50,000.  Among the classic tunes performed at the gig were “Evil Woman,” “Livin’ Thing,” “Strange Magic,” “Sweet Talkin’ Woman,” “Turn to Stone,” “Don’t Bring Me Down” and “Telephone Line.”

Lynne and ELO also played a version of the Traveling Wilburys hit “Handle with Care.”  Meanwhile, Jeff has overseen all aspects of the production of the concert film.

“It seemed like the entire 50,000 were singing and clapping along, which carried on for the whole night,” Lynne said about the gig.  “The Hyde Park concert turned out to be one of the most memorable shows ever for me.”

Live in Hyde Park also will offer some bonus features, including new interviews filmed in conjunction with the concert and the 2012 documentary Mr. Blue Sky: The Story of Jeff Lynne and ELO.
