Human Nature’s Phil Burton has announced that he will be leaving the successful quartet after more than 30 years together.

The 47-year-old revealed to Stellar that he made a “family decision” to not return to Las Vegas for the group’s residency.

“Las Vegas was a fantastic experience but it was time to come home. It was a hard decision. I hope the guys do really well with a new show. As far as Australia goes, when there are opportunities to play, they’ll fly here and I’ll jump back on board, and it will be the four of us as always,” he told the publication.

He added that it was COVID that truly confirmed his desire to return to Australia.

“Australia is where we felt the most safe as a family.”

However, his fellow bandmates are eager to return to Vegas and find a new casino to play in after ending their Venetian Resort Residency in June last year.

“There will have to be some reshuffling,” Toby Allen told the publication.

He added, “We won’t get a feeling of what it’s like to work as a three-piece until we’ve lived through it.”
