If you’re like us, then you are dreading the final Game of Thrones episode. What will you watch next? What will be your next obsession? What will your life be without Jon Snow?
If you can relate, then we’ve got something to soften the blow – HBO has just released the trailer for the Game of Thrones documentary and it’s coming sooner than expected (well, faster than Winter came).
Entitled ‘Game of Thrones: The Last Watch’, the documentary will provide fans with a behind-the-scenes look at how they created the final season of the show.
The trailer opens with the entire cast at the final table read for the show. Kit Harington is crying, Sophie Turner is laughing at his tears, and we’re in the corner sobbing.
Creator D. B. Weiss gives an adorable speech, saying, “This is strange. Here we are, at the last table read, and it’s like looking around and seeing your family.”
CUE THE TEARS!
Made with unprecedented access, the documentary is an up-close and personal report from the trenches of production, following the crew and the cast as they contend with extreme weather, punishing deadlines and an ever-excited fandom hungry for spoilers.
Much more than a “making of” documentary, this is expected to be a funny, heartbreaking story, told with wit and intimacy, about the bittersweet pleasures of what it means to create a world — and then have to say goodbye to it.
In true Game of Thrones style, the documentary is expected to be two hours long, and is guaranteed to leave any Thrones fan in tears.
Game of Thrones: The Last Watch premieres May 26.
