The thought of your fiancee calling off your upcoming wedding is awful.
But, when this happened to Quinn Duane, she and her mum acted with such grace and thoughtfulness and instead, planned a different kind of special day.
KCRA reports that last Monday Quinn called her mum, Kari, saying her fiancee got cold feet and cancelled the wedding.
After consoling her daughter, they acted quickly.
With $35,000 already spent on the wedding, they decided to open the doors to the homeless people of California and welcome them to enjoy the reception that would’ve been at the Sacramento’s Citizen Hotel.
They enjoyed a four star feast and were served appetizers, salad, cauliflower, gnocchi, salmon and ti-tip steak.
“When you’re going through a hard time and struggle for you to get out to do something different with your family, it was really a blessing” said Rashad Abdullah, a man who came with his wife and five children.
While the Bride didn’t attend, Kari was thrilled they were able to find a silver lining in the awful situation.
“I feel a lot of heartache and heartbreak for her, but I will take away something good from this, I will.”
