Following his release of I Think We’re Alone Now last week, Billie Joe Armstrong has not only shared another cover, he’s announced that he’ll continue to do so every week.
The Green Day frontman, who recently performed as part of iHeartRadio’s Living Room Concert, has launched a series called ‘No Fun Mondays’.
“Welcome to No Fun Mondays. Going to release a cover song every week until we’re let back out into the world,” he wrote on the band’s Twitter.
For his latest instalment, Armstrong put his spin on Johnny Thunders’ 1978 track You Can’t Put Your Arms Around A Memory.

And here’s his version of Tommy James & The Shondells’ I Think We’re Alone Now…. which was made even more famous in 1987 thanks to a cover version we all know and love by Tiffany.
Dear friends..
While we’ve all been in quarantine I’ve been reflecting on the things that matter the most in my life. Family, friends and of course music. I recorded a cover of @TJSHONDELLS “I think we’re alone now” in my bedroom. https://t.co/a779dWyB1Q pic.twitter.com/FETwIlC7aY— Green Day (@GreenDay) March 23, 2020
