One of the most viral stars of 2020 would have to be Nathan Apodaca, who’s better known as @420doggface208, or maybe even better known as the Fleetwood Mac Dreams Skater Cranberry Juice Guy.
The dude who made this TikTok after his car broke down on his way to work:
@420doggface208Morning vibe #420souljahz #ec #feelinggood #h2o #cloud9 #happyhippie #worldpeace #king #peaceup #merch #tacos #waterislife #high #morning #710 #cloud9♬ Dreams (2004 Remaster) – Fleetwood Mac
Well, he’s selling it.
Apodaca is selling the original 23-second video of himself skateboarding to Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Dreams’ while drinking cranberry juice as a non-fungible token – and the opening bid is set at an eyewatering $500,000.
A non-fungible token (NFT) is a form of cryptocurrency.
Thing is, the NFT only includes the clip of Apodaca skating off the highway exit ramp sipping juice – the ‘Dreams’ audio isn’t part of the package as it belongs to Fleetwood Mac. Same for the Ocean Spray logo on the juice which will be blurred out.
The Fleetwood Mac skateboarding video (without Fleetwood Mac) will hit Rarible on Friday, March 19th.
It’s another mark in the growing interest in NFTs, or non-fungible tokens. Everyone from Kings of Leon to Aphex Twin to Elon Music are getting in on the trend, with Grimes raking in a reported $6 million from NFT art sales at the beginning of the month.
