Harry Potter fans everywhere have been sent into an absolute frenzy after our magical wizarding world queen, J.K Rowling, posted a very cryptic tweet after months of silence.

The author of the infamous Harry Potter series broke her social media silence with a post that read, “Sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places”, alongside the hashtags #HarryPotter and #CursedChild.

Alongside the cryptic caption, Rowling posted a photo of a black-and-white illustration of the Dark Mark.

As expected, Harry Potter fans went absolutely nuts trying to work out what she was referencing in the post, with the most popular answer being that a film adaptation of the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child play.

What’s even more exciting? There’s reports that the film adaptation will actually bring back the OG cast, including Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson, to reprise their characters Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger.

A source reportedly told Warner Bros. that the original cast members would be returning for the story, which follows Harry and Draco Malfoy’s children Albus Potter and Scorpius Malfoy as they team up to try and save Cedric Diggory from his fate.

Of course for now, nothing has been officially confirmed. But we don’t think that Rowling would break her Twitter silence with such a cryptic tweet for nothing! So whether it’s about a new film or something else, there will certainly be some exciting news on the way.

We’ll just have to wait and see what it is! And we’ll be waiting with our wands at the ready.
