David Crosby is apologetic about calling Neil Young’s girlfriend, actress Daryl Hannah, a “purely poisonous predator,” feeling she would take advantage of his friend. He realizes it was the wrong thing and that he screwed up.
He has said: “I was completely out of line. I’m the one that wound up in a Texas prison, not Daryl Hannah. So I don’t really have any place to stand on where I can criticize other people, her or anybody else. I’ve been a massive screw-up in my life and I apologized to her.”
Crosby also says he apologized to Neil, but adds that he doesn’t “know if he accepted the apology or not. That’s up to him. But I didn’t do it for him. I did it to make me feel better about doing the right thing, and the right thing is I shouldn’t be ragging on other people.”
When the story broke last year, Young said he would never tour again with Crosby, Stills and Nash.
