Have you seen the movie The Purge? You’d remember it if you have, it’s one of those films that just kind of, sticks with you.

The Purge was a 2013 horror film about a world where it becomes legal to commit any crimes (including murder) for one night only.

It’s weird.

Anyway, one of those things that really sticks with you from the movie is the alarm that’s used by authorities to signal the beginning of the purge.

Well police in Crowley, Louisiana have been forced to apologise for using the siren from the film to signify coronavirus curfews in the town.

And people were understandably a little shook from the sound.

Police assured townsfolk that they wouldn’t use the siren to signify the curfew again…they didn’t guarantee that they wouldn’t use the siren to mark the beginning of the purge.
