The Colin Hay documentary Waiting for My Real Life will debut next month at The Melbourne International Film Festival.
It follows the former Men at Work front-man from his native Scotland, through his parents’ emigration to Australia and then Grammy-winning global success.
Of course, what goes up eventually comes down: the film shows the band’s rapid descent from the top of the charts, Colin’s personal problems and his now-thriving career on the singer-songwriter circuit.
Mick Fleetwood, Hugh Jackman, Zach Braff and Wendie Malik are among the celebs who pop up during the film to speak Hay’s praises.
While Colin won’t attend the Melbourne screenings, director Nate Gowtham will be on hand.
