A new show has just been rated higher than both the darlings of binge-TV, Breaking Bad and Game Of Thrones.
All the internet can talk about is Chernobyl.
It’s obvious from the title, sure, but the series covers everything before and after the infamous nuclear reactor disaster.
Thing is, at 9.6, Chernobyl pipped both Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad at the post (rated 9.4 and 9.5 respectively), according to rating site IMDb.
The synopsis reads: “The miniseries focuses on the heartbreaking scope of the nuclear plant disaster that occurred in Soviet Ukraine in April 1986, revealing how and why it happened and telling the shocking, remarkable stories of the heroes who fought and fell.”
Haven’t seen anything as horrifying as #ChernobylHBO in my life. Nothing comes close. Pure terror and it all happened for real. Sometimes dramatised TV can do more to open your eyes about something that really happened than any other medium. Well done #skyatlantic pic.twitter.com/HyhEn5Q6BP

Chernobyl on Sky Atlantic / HBO is quickly becoming one of the most terrifying and highly engaging dramas I’ve watched all year.

The HBO series is currently on Foxtel On Demand however, after a little digging around, we found that Chernobyl will get its ‘linear broadcast’ on Fox Showcase in July.
We’ll keep you posted on an actual date.
