Carrie Bickmore has left Education Minister Christopher Pyne red faced after making an embarrassing confession on live TV — proving why she scored the Gold Logie.
Pyne was co-hosting The Project on Monday night when Carrie, the show’s regular host, made a special return from her maternity leave to chat about last night’s big win.
After talking about the emotional speech she gave — which saw her put a blue beanie on her head to raise awareness for brain cancer — the chat turned to her new bub.
And Bickmore, who gave birth to daughter Evie just six weeks ago, revealed a little more than expected.
“I thought of you as my baby was crowning,” she said to Pyne.
“You’re not the first person that’s said that — kind of weird actually,” said Pyne, who was visibly thrown by the confession.
“I was watching that night, before I went into labour — I was watching your fabulous ‘I’m a fixer,’” Carrie said — referring to the now viral Sky News interview Pyne did where he called himself “a fixer”.
“I thought, ‘I must remember that when I’m in intense pain if I need a laugh — to think of Christopher Pyne’s ‘I’m a fixer’ — and then as it was happening, I was like, ‘I’m a fixer!’”
The other panellists, including Pyne, all wore beanies for the entire show in support of Carrie’s #BeaniesForBrainCancer campaign.
