Bruce Springsteen has spoken out against the actions of US President Donald Trump during a concert in Adelaide last night.
The 67-year-old declared President Trump’s ban of refugees and immigrants “fundamentally un-American,” which gained screams of support from the packed Adelaide audience.
While he opened his Summer 17 tour with a subdued New York Serenade, is was clear he had politics on his mind.
“Tonight we want to add our voices to the thousands of Americans who are protesting at airports around our country. The muslim ban and the detention of foreign nationals and refugees,”
“America is a nation of immigrants and we find this anti-democratic and fundamentally un-American,” he continued.
“This is a song about immigrants,” he said before launching into American Land.
But it wasn’t all politics, the 67-year-old even engaged in a bit of crowd surfing.
What a legend.
