U2 were joined onstage by Bruce Springsteen at their New York show on Friday night
Bono and co were playing their final gig of their recent eight-date residency at Madison Square Garden, with The Boss performing ‘I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For’ and ‘Stand By Me’ with the group.
Bono introduced Springsteen by saying that he “gave us the reason to be a band and the reason to continue to be a band”.
Last December, Springsteen filled in for Bono as he fronted U2 for their special concert in New York’s Times Square on World Aids Day. Bono was unable to perform after falling off his bike prior to the show.
Springsteen joined the band on the specially constructed stage to play ‘Where The Streets Have No Name’ and ‘I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For’. He dedicated the latter to “Bono in Ireland – be well, my friend.”
