Wrestling aficionado Billy Corgan has joined forces with TNA Wrestling.
The Smashing Pumpkins frontman joins the company as a senior producer for creative and talent development and will help develop characters and story lines for TNA’s Impact Wrestling show.
“Saying I’m humbled and honored by this opportunity to be part of TNA, a world-class wrestling organization, is an understatement and a dream come true,” says Corgan in a statement. He also added on Twitter that his involvement with TNA will be a “full-time endeavor.”
Corgan is well known as a wrestling fan, having founded Resistance Pro Wrestling in his hometown of Chicago. He also appeared in an ad for a previous TNA pay-per-view match.
In the meantime, Corgan who was recently in Australia will be taking The Pumpkins’ material on an acoustic tour for the first time beginning June 15 in Buffalo, New York. Following that, he’ll join up with Marilyn Manson to bring The End Times tour, which starts July 7 in Concord, California.
Impact Wrestling airs Friday nights at 9 p.m. ET on Destination America.
