Channel Ten has announced that it will be bumping Bachelor In Paradise back to 8:40PM to make way for the network to launch the new season of MasterChef.

A spokeswoman for the network told Confidential that the reasoning behind the decision stems back to Channel Ten wanting to avoid MasterChef clashing with Channel Seven’s My Kitchen Rules.

It has nothing to do with Bachelor In Paradise ratings

“The launch date of MasterChef Australia is always a late decision so it’s after the MKR finale,” the representative told the publication.

“With MasterChef starting on Monday 29 April, our prime time schedule from Tuesday to Thursdays will go from one audience favourite to another. Bachelor In Paradise is performing well this season. The show has also always been the sort of show that people catch-up on.

“This year it’s adding an average of 200,000 catch-up viewers. That’s huge.”
