“And I’m here, to remind you, of the mess you left when you went away…”

Alanis Morissette’s musical ‘Jagged Little Pill’ – inspired by the songs from her iconic 90s record – is heading to Sydney at the revamped Theatre Royal in September!

26 years after the album was recorded, Alanis told Jonesy & Amanda that it’s a “dream come true”.

“This is the first time we’re stepping out of America and I couldn’t be more excited!”

There’s no denying that the 1995 album is packed to the brim with angst, but how much of it is reflected in the musical and in her life 26 years later?

“I’m still angsty about certain things,” she explained.

“Anger gets a bad rap but the actual energy is loving!”

Oscar-winning scriptwriter Diablo Cody penned the Jagged Little Pill story about a seemingly perfect suburban family’s life being turned upside down, and it is this form of collaboration that Alanis thrives on.

“I’ve always said collaboration is the highest form of synergistic art to me!”
