With the reality TV world being absolutely saturated with content at the moment you’d think that there really isn’t a dating show that we haven’t seen before.
But the announcement of a new Bachelor spin-off series proves that there is one market that hasn’t been explored yet. And it’s honestly just what our reality TV dreams have been missing.
Over in the US they’ve just announced that they will be doing a senior citizens edition of The Bachelor with the ABC announcing that they’re seeking for men and women aged 65 and older.
The head of alternative programming at the ABC also tweeted about the casting.
“#BachelorNation give us your Grumpiest Old Men, give us your Goldenest Girls #TheBachelor” with an image that said “now casting seniors looking for love”.

The casting description for the spin-off show says that they’re looking for “active and outgoing single men and women IN THEIR GOLDEN YEARS for a new exciting dating show!”
Of course at the moment it’s only a thing in the US and if you’re an older Aussie single thinking you can jet across the ocean to apply, you have to actually be a US resident to take part.
But hey, if it works well in the US there’s no doubt that they’ll try and bring it across to test it out on the Australian market.
