The Billboard Music Awards are undoubtedly one of the biggest annual events on the calendar for musicians and celebrities alike.

This weekend’s festivities will be as fabulous as ever – and we’re especially excited to see Taylor Swift’s hotly awaited, star-studded new video for ‘Bad Blood’, which will premiere on the night.

To get you even more pumped up for the show, here are 10 memorable performances from Billboard Music Awards shows past…

MARIAH CAREY – 1999
Mariah Carey has one of the best and most enduring voices in the biz, and this performance proves it! Singing her ballad ‘I Still Believe’, the star’s vocals absolutely soar.

NSYNC – 2000
Who could forget Justin Timberlake and his mates in NSYNC performing ‘Just Got Paid’ at the 2000 BBMAs? It’s everything you loved (or hated) about the early 2000s and boy bands – colourful costumes, choreographed dance moves, play fights…

PINK – 2003
Before Pink became the super-flexible acrobat she is on stage these days, she was belting out bangers like no one’s business. Back in 2003 she performed her then-current single, ‘God Is A DJ’, at the BBMAs – and the stage was turned into a giant turntable.

BRITNEY SPEARS AND RIHANNA – 2011
Is it just us, or is it hot in here? Britney and Rihanna teamed up for a performance of RiRi’s ’S&M’ at the 2011 show, all dressed up in leather bondage suits with whips, chains and everything in between. The pair even shared a kiss in what’s gone down in history as one of the steamiest Billboard performances ever.

BEYONCE – 2011
Who runs the world? Bey! The superstar pulled off a jaw-dropping performance of ‘Run The World (Girls)’ in 2011, complete with interactive video, 100 dancers and dazzling pyrotechnics.

JORDIN SPARKS AND JOHN LEGEND – 2012
Honouring the late and great Whitney Houston just months after her death, John Legend and Jordin Sparks ensured there wasn’t a dry eye in the house when they took to the stage in 2012 to perform her hits, including ‘The Greatest Love of All’ and ‘I Will Always Love You’. Get the tissues ready.

KATY PERRY – 2012
Katy Perry’s performance of ‘Wide Awake’ in 2012 was nothing short of dreamy, featuring the singer hanging from the ceiling in an ethereal, floating white gown against a backdrop of clouds. Swoon.

TAYLOR SWIFT – 2013
We don’t know about you, but we’re feeling 22! T-Swizzle opened the 2013 awards with a spectacular show, in which she started in her dressing room, rolled through the crowd on a bicycle and ended up on stage in a massive dance party – confetti and all.

BRUNO MARS – 2013
One of the most exciting performers in the business, Bruno Mars made sure everyone was on their feet when he busted out this sleek rendition of ‘Treasure’ in 2013. With disco balls and a suave red suit on, Bruno partied like it was 1979 in a performance to remember.

MICHAEL JACKSON – 2014
Gone but not forgotten, MJ memorably appeared at the 2014 BBMAs in hologram form. An animation of the King of Pop joined atroupe of dancers and performed ‘Slave To The Rhythm’.

The Billboard Music Awards will take place in Las Vegas this weekend.
