Kerri-Anne Kennerley Opens Up About Husband John's Progress
After 50 years in the business and multiple nominations - including three for Gold Logie - Kerri-Anne Kennerley was last night inducted into the Logie Awards Hall of Fame to a standing ovation.
The beloved Aussie icon is only the third female to be given the honour and, as she took to the stage, her husband John watched from his wheelchair sidestage, tearing up as she thanked him for always being there for her.
Luckily for us, the always gorgeous Kerri-Anne was more than happy to snuggle in beside Jonesy and Amanda this morning, where she revealed that John has, slowly but surely, been making impressive progress.
"He made such an effort to come to Melbourne and it's not an easy exercise, getting him on the place, hoisting him into seats and from this chair to that chair but he did it with such grace and he got here, and there were no issues," the 63-year-old said.
"But we got here, and we loved the night."
Jonesy then told Kerri-Anne that John had squeezed his hand when they greeted each other, prompting Kerri-Anne to praise her husband of 33 years.
"His right hand is just getting a little bit... he's got no fingers, so he still can't turn a page or push a remote or feed himself, so I am the page-turner," she smiled.
"But he's doing just brilliantly."
Incredibly, Kerri-Anne also counted that Sunday had been her and John's combined 31st ceremony; amazing!
