A BRITISH doctor has punched a shark in the face to escape being attacked on the CENTRAL COAST.
CHARLIE FRY was surfing with TWO mates at AVOCA BEACH yesterday afternoon ... when the shark bit him on the arm and shoulder. He managed to get away with scratches and a puncture wound.
AVOCA and NORTH AVOCA will be closed today.

DONALD TRUMP has apparently told MALCOLM TURNBULL a US-led military attack on NORTH KOREA is a live option during a private meeting in the PHILIPPINES.

A man has died after crashing his car, when police tried to stop him on the NORTHERN BEACHES overnight.
Police say the man slammed into a tree and his vehicle caught alight at NORTH NARRABEEN after they tried to stop him around 11 last night. An independent review of the incident will now be carried out.
A cyclist has died after his bike and a car collided at DOUBLE BAY.
The rider died at the scene after the crash on NEW SOUTH HEAD ROAD during last night's peak. The 49-year-old man driving the car was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
