Woman Mauled By Three Dingoes At WA Minesite
A woman will need plastic surgery after she was attacked by three dingoes at a minesite in WA's Pilbara on Wednesday.
The 54-year-old fly-in, fly-out worker was having lunch in a designated safe area at the Telfer Mine when her family said she was approached by a dingo.
She knew it was likely that the animal would try and take her food and knowing that feeding dingoes resulted in instant dismissal, she disposed of the food in a bin, The West Australian reported.
While she did that, the dingo took off with her phone.
A short time later she found the mobile in a nearby bush but decided to leave it there when her family said she spotted another couple of dingoes. She instead turned and walked away.
It was then he three animals attacked.
“She had bites everywhere but her head,” relatives told The West.
“She said she was screaming for help for nearly 10 minutes before somebody came and helped get the dogs off her ... we’re not sure how.”
She has since had two operations at Royal Perth Hospital and will need plastic surgery.
