Western Sydney Suburb Terrorised By Vandalism
A western Sydney suburb has been terrorised by a string of acts of vandalism which has left dozens of cars destroyed by graffiti.
About 50 cars parked around Fairfield have been targeted in less than a week, with close to 30 sprayed in Fairfield West in less than 12 hours.
Shocked residents told Channel 7 that they were disgusted by the attacks and that police, who have launched an investigation into the incidents, should "throw the book at them".
"I hope the culprits are caught soon as this has been going on for days and there are many people who have been victimised by the experience," one local, Trevor Weinert, said.
Both of Mr Weinert's cars were vandalised last week, putting him out of pocket "for cleaning the vehicles and a day's wage from missing work."
Another resident's license plate was totally blacked out with paint while another said he would have to hand over thousands of dollars to fix his van.
Anyone who may have CCTV footage that could assist police with their inquiries or who may have information relating to the attacks is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
