Firefighters Have Cash, Phones Stolen While Out On Call
A man has been arrested after a team of western Sydney firefighters had their personal belongings stolen while responding to an emergency last night.
Fire & Rescue crews from Bankstown Station were out at an incident in Yagoona at 7.40pm on Monday when thieves broke into the Hume Highway premises and forced open a number of lockers.
When the firies returned they found one of the windows at the front of the station had been smashed and contacted police.
A trace on one of the stolen phones led officers to a hotel on the Hume Highway where two men were arrested.
One, a 38-year-old, has since been charged with breaking and entering, having goods in custody, malicious damage and breach of bail.
The second, 29, was released pending further inquiries.
