Two NRL Players Hospitalized After Drug Overdose

Two South Sydney Rabbitohs players are currently seeking medical treatment in hospital after an alleged drug overdose.

Aaron Gray and Dylan Walker have been named as the two players taken to St Vincents hospital on Tuesday morning, initially told to be in a critical condition.

Ambulance NSW have confirmed two young men were taken to the hospital for an overdose but have not officially released names.

Channel Nine have reported the drugs were painkillers and their condition has since improved.

South Sydney are holding a press conference at 10am with more details to emerge as the day continues.

A statement from the Club reports as follows.

"The South Sydney Rabbitohs have confirmed that two of its players, Dylan Walker and Aaron Gray, were admitted to hospital this morning, and both are in a stable condition," the Club states.

"Both players had post season surgery last week, following the end of the Club’s season, in preparation for pre-season training to commence later this year.

"The Club is keeping abreast of the situation and will not be making any further comment at this stage."
