Two Killed In Fiery Head-On Collision In Sydney's West
Police have confirmed that two people have been killed in a fiery head-on collision in Sydney's south-west.
The two trucks, one a B-Double truck and the other a car carrier, smashed into each other on Picton Road, in Wilton, just after 5am on Friday.
According to reports, one of the drivers was thrown from the cab of his vehicle, while the second, the driver of the car carrier, is still inside the burning truck.
Fire and Rescue NSW were called to the scene to extinguish the blaze, which spread from the car carrier to three of the cars it was transporting, but were blocked by the burning trailer and were unable to gain access to the scene.
They were forced to double back, approaching from Macarthur Drive, in order to battle the fire.
Picton Road is still blocked by the trailer, and motorists are being advised to avoid the area.
