Two Days, Two Babies Rescued From Locked Cars In Perth

Two babies have been saved by police after they were locked in hot cars in two separate incidents in Perth this week.

Ellenbrook Police were forced to smash the window of a car to get to a baby who had been trapped for about 45 minutes about 2pm on Wednesday.

The mother had struggled to alert police as her phone was also locked inside the car, PerthNow reported.

The baby was looked over by ambulance paramedics but was not seriously harmed.

On Thursday, about 11am, another infant was rescued after being locked in a car at a shopping centre.

Sergeant Paul Coventry told PerthNow that it was important parents took extra care when locking cars.

“Even on a mild day the ambient temperature can rise very quickly,” he said.
