Truckload Of Asbestos Dumped In Sydney Street
A street in the heart of southwest Sydney has been cordoned off after a truckload of what is believed to be asbestos was illegally dumped there overnight.
The dangerous substance was evacuated from a tipper truck along residential Hillside Avenue in Clemton Park at around 5:45pm on Wednesday evening.
Fire & Rescue NSW workers were called to the scene where they blocked off the area and sprayed a sealing agent on the contaminated waste before covering it in plastic.
The incident has now been reported to the NSW Environment Protection Authority for further investigation and charges are expected to be laid.
