Tiger shows go on at Aus Zoo after injury
It's expected to be business as usual at Australia Zoo a day after an animal keeper was injured by a Sumatran tiger.
A 35-year-old handler was "swatted" by male tiger Ranu on Thursday morning, leaving him with scratches that required stitches.
But zoo curator Kelsey Engle said no tiger shows have been cancelled following the incident, which took place in an off-display area.
Speaking on Thursday, she said Ranu's routine was unlikely to change, with staff to "pamper him" with ice blocks during the hot weather.
Meanwhile, the keeper is expected back to work in coming days.
Ms Engle insisted Thursday's incident was simply a mischievous display from the big cat and not an attack or serious run-in.
