The Family Planning NSW Website Has Been Targeted By Hackers
Family Planning NSW has revealed that they have fallen victim to a cyber-attack on their website which may have compromised their online databases.
These databases contained information from over 8000 clients who had contacted Family Planning NSW through their website in the past two-and-a-half years, seeking appointments or leaving feedback.
However they claim that since the attack, there is no evidence that this information has been used by the cyber-attackers.
Family Planning NSW were one of several agencies targeted by cyber criminals requesting a bitcoin ransom on ANZAC Day this year.
They revealed in a press statement that all web database information has been secure since this time and more sensitive medical records held internally were never under threat and the situation is now contained and there have been no further threats.
The website is currently offline undergoing an external security review and internal testing.
