Sydney, Your Weekend Weather Forecast Is In

Forget about spring being in the air, Sydney, because this weekend's weather is going to be mid-summer stuff.

According to the Bureau of Meteorology, the mercury is set to hit at least 33°C in the west with a three-day run of super hot temperatures.

The unseasonably warm weather kicks off on Thursday with a predicted 30°C in Penrith and Richmond before steadily climbing across the weekend.

And while temperatures in the city won't quite hit that level, those in the CBD can look forward to a positively balmy 29°C on Saturday.

"We've just experienced a very warm and dry winter," BOM's climate prediction manager Dr Andrew Watkins said.

"In fact, daytime temperatures were at record-high levels across much of the country this winter."

See you all at the beach, then?
