Sydney Welcomes 2018 With A Bang!

Sydney has said bye-bye to 2017 in spectacular style with a fireworks extravaganza lighting up the city.

Revellers packed the harbour to catch a glimpse of the show, many claiming vantage spots early in the morning.

The Harbour Bridge played host to a rainbow waterfall of fireworks, in celebration of marriage equality and the 40th anniversary of Mardi Gras in 2018.

Eight tonnes of fireworks exploded in the sky, lighting up faces everywhere.

The show even included a section of fireworks designed by Hugh Jackman.

Around one million people were expected to gather in the CBD to watch the fireworks, with another billion tuning in on TV.

Here's to a firecracker 2018!
