Sydney School Girls Charged After Violent Robbery Spree
Three young Sydney school girls have been charged after a number of late-night robberies and assaults in Sydney’s inner-city overnight.
The trio of school girls, two aged 14 and one aged 12, stole a mobile phone from two women in Ultimo on Thursday just after midnight.
It’s alleged that the girls then stole a second phone from a second victim and bashed another woman nearby with a metal pole before making off with her backpack. This woman was left with facial injuries.
A fifth victim was reportedly assaulted at Central Railway Station before the girls robbed the woman of her handbag. Witnesses of this assault called police.
The three girls were arrested by officers nearby and were taken to Day Street Police Station. The 12-year-old girl faced Children’s Court on Thursday having been charged with assault with intent to rob.
The two 14-year-old girls were charged with various offences including demand with menaces and robbery with assault.
One of these older girls appeared before a Children’s Court on Thursday while the other has been released on conditional bail and is to appear before the court in July.
