Sydney, Prepare To Shiver Through Your Coldest Morning

If you were in Sydney yesterday, you would have enjoyed the epic sunshine, as if summer was giving us one last warm hug goodbye before winter took over.

We didn’t realise it would happen quite so quickly.

Early yesterday evening a severe thunderstorm that came through Sydney cut power to over 900 homes.

The fast-moving storm cell dumped heavy rain and brought epically strong winds through Penrith and Richmond before heading north-east.

"The thunderstorms were short and sharp," said NSW SES duty officer Neil Wiblin.

"Damaging winds were contained in the thunderstorm and it was really severe and very fast moving," Mr Wiblin added.

Temperatures were then set to drop to 12 degrees last night, but instead hit as low as 10 degrees in some areas.

There’s a chance this type of chill could stick around this week, so pull out that coat to get you to work this morning!
