Sydney, Here's Labor And The Coalitions Election Promises




* $2.8 billion for 8300 frontline staff including an extra 5000 nurses and midwives

* $8.4 billion on health infrastructure including upgrades of St George and Ryde Hospitals, the Royal Prince Alfred hospital, the Children's Hospital at Westmead and redevelopment of the Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital


* $6 billion investment in school infrastructure to deliver more than 170 new and upgraded schools

* Hiring of an additional 4600 teachers

* $449 million to clear the school maintenance backlog by July 2020

* A total of nearly 700,000 free TAFE and VET courses over four years and a new $80 million TAFE campus for western Sydney

* $2.2 billion to plan Bathurst Base Hospital's expansion, $1 billion for the upgrade of Nepean Hospital and $434 million for the upgrade of Shoalhaven Hospital


* Public schools will receive an extra $2.7 billion worth of Gonski needs-based funding over the life of the agreement between NSW and the federal government

*Divert $500 million from the Coalition's stadiums plan to replace 1000 demountables with with new permanent air-conditioned classrooms

* Offer more than 600,000 fee-free TAFE places over the next decade where there are skill shortages

* $7.4 billion school building program to build and upgrade 204 schools

* Every new school built has childcare or before-and-after school care facilities


* $500 million to create a new cultural institution in Western Sydney and retain the current Powerhouse Museum

* Taxpayers won't pay for the rebuild of Allianz Stadium


* Reintroduce the cashback on the M4

* Free fares for all school children until they turn 16 or graduate from a NSW secondary school

* Hold a judicial inquiry into WestConnex, Sydney Light Rail and the port privatisation deal

Environment and Energy:

* Conduct a special commission of inquiry into the Menindee Lakes ecological incident and restore low and medium flows to the Darling River, among other action

* Support 500,000 households to install roof top solar over 10 years

* Set a renewable energy target of 50 per cent by 2030 and as close to 100 per cent as possible by 2050 Domestic Violence:

* Fund a $158 million domestic, family and sexual violence package
