Sydney Airport Strike Causes Chaos For Flyers

If you think you’re flying somewhere today, think again.

If the Bali ash cloud hadn’t stopped you - then the Sydney airport strikes definitely will.

The border force and immigration staff strike is on for 24 hours today and it will mean chaos for travellers.

The strike is part of a dispute between staff and the federal government over pay conditions and saw thousands of workers at Sydney Airport walking off the job early this morning, according to a report on the Daily Telegraph.

It is understood that QANTAS have already contacted travellers on outbound international flights, urging them to arrive earlier than usual in a bid to avoid processing delays.

Virgin Australia are said to have cancelled all flights for today as a result of the disruption and Jetstar are still running some flights today.
