One Nation's Steve Dickson Quits over strip club scandal

One Nation senate candidate Steve Dickson has offered his resignation to Pauline Hanson after footage emerged of him groping dancers and making disparaging comments about a woman in a Washington DC strip club.

And to rub salt into the wound, Dickson's press release announcing his resignation included an unfortunate typo.

One of the last lines includes the text:

"As I will no longer be of PUBIC interest..."

Oh dear.

Mr Dickson was caught saying "I've done more Asian than I know what to do with" and that strip clubs are better in the Philippines because women dance on top of the bars and "then take everything off", the footage recorded by Al Jazeera during an undercover investigation shows.

Dickson’s behaviour towards the dancer continued to deteriorate as he made a graphic request that she declined and claimed she had wanted to “come home” and perform a sex act.

Dickson was also filmed saying “I think white women **** a whole lot better, they know what they’re doing. Asian chicks don’t”.

Pauline Hanson has called an early morning press conference at her property in Queensland, where the Courier-Mail says a "disgusted" One Nation leader where she was expected to sack Mr Dickson.

The recording was captured by an undercover journalist and was leaked to Nine's A Current Affair which broadcast the footage on Monday night.

Al Jazeera has said in a statement overnight that it had not run the footage in its report and condemns the "unauthorised use of its material."

The footage comes more than a month after the Al Jazeera investigation released footage from a meeting between Mr Dickson, Senator Hanson's chief of staff James Ashby and the National Rifle Association in Washington, DC in September 2018.
