'They'll Lose Every Single One Of Their Contracts': Markson
Celebrity agent Max Markson believes disgraced cricketers Steve Smith and David Warner will be dumped by all their sponsors.
His comments come as the fallout continues over the ball-tampering scandal.
Markson told the ABC that sponsorship contracts usually contain a "morals clause", which cheating would come under.
"They'll lose every single one of their contracts — nobody will stand by them," he said.
The makers of Weet-Bix and one Smith’s major personal sponsorship deals, Sanitarium, is saying the relationship is "under review".
The Commonwealth Bank, who Smith is an ambassador, is waiting on the outcome of an investigation before taking any action.
Warner's website lists Asics, LG, Gray Nicholls, Nine, Toyota, Nestle's Milo and the Make-a-Wish Foundation as brand partners.
On a wider front, Cricket Australia have also been put on notice as major naming rights sponsor, Magellan, has expressed deep concern over the scandal, while LG says they are “acutely aware” of it, the company said in a statement:
"As a sponsor of vice-captain David Warner, we are keeping a close eye on developments in this case and in particular the ongoing response from Cricket Australia, which will inform actions regarding our partnership.”
Milo's sponsorship deal with Warner had already finished up at the end of 2017.
