Sister Of NRL Star Dylan Walker Charged With Manslaughter
The sister of rugby league star Dylan Walker has been charged over the death of her boyfriend.
Jade Walker is the older sister of Manly Sea Eagles centre Dylan Walker, and appeared in Sutherland Local Court on Monday charged with manslaughter as well as aggravated break-in.
Ms Walker, 31, was allegedly involved in an incident with her 'on-again, off-again' boyfriend Gilbert Caetano, 51, at his parents' home at Brighton Le Sands, around 1.10am on Sunday.
Police say Mr Caetano suffered severe injuries and was declared dead at the scene.
Daily Mail Australia reports Walker, who identifies as a transgender woman, had been in an 'on and off' relationship with the father-of-one.
On Sunday morning Caetano's daughter Jessica Caetano told media outside the home that she didn't know much about her father's girlfriend.
'I don't really know the full story but she's been around for a while,'
Ms Caetano said her father 'was a kid at heart' and her family was left shattered by his death.
'The best way to describe him is probably a kid at heart... a fun, loving and caring person,'
'I don't think he deserved this at all.'
Manly Sea Eagles released this statement on Monday afternoon.
'Manly Warringah Sea Eagles have been advised today of a serious legal matter involving a close family member of NRL player, Dylan Walker,'
'The Club's focus during this challenging period... is on fully supporting Dylan and his family.'
Walker suffered a serious eye socket injury during Manly's clash with Melbourne on Saturday night - just hours before the alleged incident involving his sister.
